There are many seaside resorts along the coastline, such as the well known Viareggio. The hinterland is characterised by mountains, forests and charming villages. Daytrips that are recommended are to the marble quarries (Carrara) and to the lake of Massaciuccoli. A lovely region for enjoying a varied holiday.
