ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION Detached holiday house with private swimming pool, in a quiet location 2 km from San Rocco in Turrite, approx. 39 km north of Lucca. The small holiday house is simply, but nicely furnished and has an enclosed garden with its own pool. A part of the back of the house is empty and not in use: so you have the house to yourselves. This is an ideal location in the middle of the lovely Apennine countryside. This is an ideal place for superb walks, including the walk from San Rocco in Turrite to the mountain Monte Matanna: the walk takes you through forests, past lakes and along fields where cows, pigs and horses graze peacefully. From the summit of the mountain there is a great view across the Apennines as far as the sea. For shops and a restaurant you can go directly to San Rocco in Turrite. For more substantial shopping you have to go to Pescaglia (6 km). There are many characteristic villages to visit in this region such as Borgo a mozzano, Ponte a Moriano and Bagni di Lucca. The city of Lucca, with its famous round square and a beautiful historical town centre is definitely worth a visit. In addition you can also take trips to Pisa, Collodi (Pinocchio Park) and the sea (55 km).
