ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION This beautifully restored, some 200-year-old, detached house built from natural stone, is situated in a scenic mountain landscape, 3,5 km southwest of the bustling town of Saint-Félicien, in the direction of Pailharès. Here, at the highest point of the property, right next to the house, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the valley and the mountains. Saint-Félicien is situated roughly 30 km to the west of the Rhône at Tournon-sur-Rhône. In front of the house, on the hill, you’ll find a meadow where you might see a few cows grazing. In the valley, there is a lovely little bridge over the river after approximately 1 km (see photos). The owner also lives on the property, only a few metres from the holiday home, but most of the time he won’t be there. Due to the slope, the house has three levels. On the ground level, you’ll find a bedroom, bathroom and a toilet. The living room and kitchen is on the middle level, and the second bedroom, consisting of a mezzanine above the kitchen, is located on the top level. Hikers, cyclists, and those in search of peace, will find themselves at home here, thanks to the pristine, natural environment. For shopping, Saint-Félicien is just five minutes’ drive from the house. You’ll also find cafés and restaurants here. Saint-Félicien is known for its Ardéchoise, a cycle race for amateurs, which takes place each year in June, attracting thousands of participants and spectators. There are plenty of outings to go on: along the beautiful little Doux River towards the surrounding rough mountains of the Ardèche, and the charming towns of Aubenas, Privas, Valence and Montelimar, the villages of Lamastre, Saint-Agrève and Antraigues sur Volane, and towards the source of the Loire River at the Gerbier de Jonc. And from there, possibly towards Gorges de l'Ardèche or Provence and Languedoc with its charming cities like Valence, Montélimar, Orange, Arles, Uzès, Nimes and Avignon a little further along.
