ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION Fully detached house of natural stone, located at the edge of a very peaceful, centuries old hamlet. From the extremely spacious terrace you can enjoy a beautiful view of the forests and hills. The only other inhabitants of the hamlet are the owner of the holiday house and someone who lives there all year round. To get to the house you have to take a good passable driveway of stone chippings for about 500 metres (not accessible to low vehicles). The house is about 4.5 km to the south of the beautiful village of St Michel l'Observatoire where you can find most of your needs. The town is to the north west of the beautiful town of Manosque, to the east of Apt. For more extensive purchases you can go approximately 10 km to the picturesque little town of Forcalquier. St Michel l'Observatoire gets its name from the observatory that was built there at some point. The spot is renowned for its clear and clean air so that here, with telescopes of the day, you could work for many more hours than in other places in France. This is an ideal spot for those who like peace and natural beauty. Here there are numerous possibilities for walks in the surrounding mountains and forests. There are many possibilities for excursions from here: to the many villages in the area such as Reillanne, Forcalquier, Mane, Viens and Banon; to beautiful towns such as Aix en Provence, Apt, Sisteron and Manosque; the Lac de Sainte Croix or the Lac de Serre Ponçon; to the beautiful abbey of Notre Dame de Salagou in Mane. You are in the natural park of the Luberon Mountains and so there are lots of different walks available. Golf: Pierrevert 17 km (in Manosque). Tennis: Saint-Michel-l'Observatoire.
