ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION A centuries old, beautifully restored house in the village of Madières with a magnificent view over the river Vis, the bridge, part of the village and also the mountains and the gulf. The house is in a quiet location and there is direct access to river on this downward sloping plot of land. There are splendid walks from the house in the mountains and the woods or to the wonderful "Gorges de Vis". For most of your daily groceries you can go to the engaging and bustling town of Ganges. Ganges is situated at the foot of the rugged Cevennes mountain range (about 16 km) and you can also go to le Vigan that is about the same distance. Ganges is to the north of the famous, enchanting city of Montpellier. There are numerous trips you can go on: the Cevennes; the cities of Montpellier, Nîmes and Béziers; to the many lovely villages such as St Hippolyte du Fort, Anduze, Ganges, St Guilhem le Désert, le Vigan en Sauve; to the coast at Agde or Palavas; and to the wonderful Cirque de Navacelles - a very strange hollow in the mountains.
