ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION House on the edge of the splendid old village of Venzolasca located high in the mountains. From the terrace and the small garden you can enjoy a splendid view over the surrounding mountains and a few other old villages. The village is about 9 km from a lovely sandy beach that stretches for miles. At the beach there is a restaurant, parking place under the eucalyptus trees and a protected nature reserve. You can get all your groceries at the shops along the main N 198 or in Folelli. Venzolasca is the mountains to the west of the N 198, about half way between the seaside resort of Moriani-Plage and the lovely city of Bastia. In the area you will find other enchanting villages such as Loreto di Casinca, Ocagnano, San Giuliano, Cervione, San Nicolao and Piedicroce. The mountains are never far away wherever you are in Corsica. There are opportunities for walks in the mountains near Loreto di Casinco or near Piedicroce. Near Piedicroce is the Monte San Petrone reaching a height of 1,767 metres. The lovely mountain region to the south of Venzolasco is called la Castagniccia because of the many chestnut trees in the area. In earlier times the chestnuts were used to make flour. To the south are the easily accessible splendid cities of Porto-Vecchio and Bonifacio, to the north Bastia, Cap Corse and the very lovely little port of Saint-Florent.
